Dribbly nose

Agh. Mum says I've got a cold, but all I'm feeling is all uncomfortable. I can't damn well breathe when I feed so I end up leaving trails of snot all over Mummy. I hate having my runny nose wiped, though. I mean, why? - when Mum's shoulder is so much better?

Feeling yukky

Spent all day clinging to Mummy, who complained that she couldn't put me down anywhere. Mum, holding me is your job, durrrr. Feeling like grot.

Kissing Boobie

Uncle Dan and Auntie Julie came round for dinner this evening, after Boobie and Auntie Julie's pilates session.

I kissed Boobie...

... and then proceeded to rearrange her face...

Oh yeah, I gotta show you my cork mat. It is so the It toy at the moment. I practise picking it up and slobbering all over it.

Flipping it over is a speciality of mine. Now you see it... and now you don't.

Hat trick

Great Auntie Natalie, Great Uncle Brad, second cousin Lisa and Great Safda Yonna (Safda is grandma in Hebrew) came round to visit this afternoon.

As usual, Boobie had bought waaaay too much food: there was a mountain of bagels on the dining table. I decided, though, that I was in a sleepy clingy mood and it wasn't worth being too sociable. I used toothache as an excuse.

After the relatives left, Boobie got the Tidying Urge (uh-oh, you know what that means) and made Dad and Mum sort out my ever-growing pile of clothes. I said I wanted to help. Boobie stuffed me in the fluffy bear coat she'd bought ages ago:

Mum said I could try on my hats to see which ones still fit. I'm glad my safari hat still does:

So does my beach hat...

..Hey, what's in the box?

I tried on Mum's beret that she got for Hanukkah!

Girl on each arm

Mum and I went to Borders for coffee with the NCT crowd again this lunchtime. I hung out with Dana and young Emma. I like Emma, but she's six weeks younger than me and I don't want to be accused of cradle-snatching.

I sat with Isla a bit too. Now Isla's an older woman - she's about two weeks older than me.

In the Night Garden

Hello there! It's you again!

I've been watching my favourite programme on the telly: In the Night Garden. The best characters are the Tombliboos. However Maka Pakka's song is the best. Mum says that Iggle Piggle and Upsy-Daisy are an item because they keep snogging.

In today's episode the characters all went on a ride on the Pinky Ponk (a magical giant green airship with unaerodynamic paddles) and had a tea party, then the Pinky Ponk got stuck in a tree. Totally riveting, man.

Foodie

I measured 69cm tall and weighed 16 lbs and 8½ oz at the clinic this morning. My line on the growth chart is climbing again after a brief slowdown in the last couple of months. I think it must be the food Mum's been shovelling into my mouth for the past three weeks now.

I've tried: vanilla rice (liked), sweet potato (liked), squash (liked), carrots (too lumpy, pretended to gag), banana (liked the 1st day, not the 2nd), millet (boring), apple (too tart), mushed sweetcorn (gross) and yesterday and today, blueberries! They're really great 'cos they stain everything. I get it round my mouth and end up looking like rubberlips Mick Jagger. And I've figured that a way of causing maximum havoc is to swipe the spoon really hard with a great clumsy butter-arm before it gets to my mouth, and then enjoying the look on Mum's face as she sees gobs of dark purply-blue everywhere.

Visiting Dana

After doing some food shopping at Tesco, Mum phoned Dana's mum and arranged to pop over this afternoon. I'd persuaded Mum that we should see whether Dana was feeling better from her cold on Sunday.

Mum and I zoomed over to Brent Cross first. Mum wanted to buy some more bamboo wool from John Lewis as she's finally getting round to finishing knitting a 3-6 month size jumper that she started when I was still in her tummy. Better late than never, Mum! It's nice though - very designer Ted Baker style.

Mum got lost on the North Circular going to Dana's house - even with the SatNav! I got very annoyed with her and decided to bawl my lungs out. So we arrived very late and didn't get to stay long. Dana was asleep at first but then she woke up, so we got to play on her play mat. She's better at press ups than me, but I can sit up by myself and I was trying to show her how to do it. Mum had brought over some organic liquorice tea for Dana's cough. I hope it works on her.

In the evening Uncle Daniel and Auntie Julie came over. I had fun doing some country dancing with Boobie and Auntie Julie. My favourite one goes, "I want to be near you, you're the one, the one, the one; I want to be near you, you're the one for me."

Body parts

Boobie says I must show you my Herculean thighs, chubby oversized knees, oedema ankles and fat feet.

Dad says his is this big.

Lunch date

I woke up this morning and nearly forgot I was going to take Dana out for lunch! Mum picked out for me a trendy Monsoon Baby purple shirt that she's found for me in the sales. Then Dana's mum rang and said that Dana hadn't been feeling too well as she'd caught another cold. She'd hardly even got rid of the last one and she'd been coughing a bit when I saw her last week.

Dana decided she'd come to lunch as she'd eaten a bit that morning so was feeling a bit better. I sat up in my highchair at the Thai restaurant - with the parents there of course - but Dana was feeling poorly. Her dad was worried about her and thought that her temperature might be high. We enjoyed the lunch but Dana's parents wanted to take her home straightaway.

I was a bit upset when I got home, as I didn't get to show Dana my new highchair! It was raining heavily, which I thought was justly atmospheric. What a dampener.

Head in the bed

Hey, have you got ready for bed too? Boobie let me sit up in her bed tonight.

Let me demonstrate what fun can be had when one is wearing white pyjamas and one pulls the sheets up.

I reckon this one will pass as a passport photo - what do you think? The requirements are: musn't be smiling, eyes open, against a white background.

Coffee morning

Mum and I went to Borders in Brent Cross Retail Park today, to meet up with the other NCT mums and babies for coffee. I'd pestered Mum to phone Dana's mum, as I hadn't seen her for absolutely ages. She's much better internationally travelled than me now, having her dad's family in New Zealand and her mum's family in Israel - and she's flown out to see them both.

I asked Dana how she found flying on an aeroplane.

She said that luckily she slept through a lot of the flight, but she reassured me that she had definitely done her bit for babies everywhere by screaming inconsolably as well. I showed her my "little bear" socks.

She said her denim dungarees were new as well. I said that I liked the flower pattern on it. I'm not generally allowed to have flowers on my clothing.

Anyway, we made a date to go to lunch on Sunday week!

Um-Bear

This is my new pal Um-Bear. I named him myself. He's a present from Auntie Justine, and has a badge saying "My first Harrods Bear" on his chest.

Babies & Pizza

Mum, Dad and I went to ASK Restaurant in Whetstone this afternoon, to meet up with friends from Mum's antenatal NCT class. The last time that the dads had seen the other babies was back in August, so there were many comments flying around of how much all the babies had changed as they were approaching the six month mark!

Chloe had just finished a pot of green coloured goo that she didn't like:

Here's youngest Emma, in her designer Spanish outfit, with her mum Ana:

This is baby Emily, and her mum Julie:

Here's Dexter, with his mum Jen:

...and here are Evie with her mum Liz on the left, and Rafi with his mum Rach on the right. Rafi weighs close to 20 lbs now! I've got some serious catching up to do...

This is baby Madeline, with her mum Rachel. Madeline told me that everyone thinks she's bald but her hair's just a bit sparse and blonde.

Finally, I couldn't resist putting this picture of smiley Isla in. She's very proud that she's able to sit up in her high chair now!

The Smiling Buddha

We've been back at our flat in Croydon for half of this week. Mum went to see her acupuncturist and Dad had a minor eye op. I wasn't sure what to make of him wearing an eye patch though.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to all my readers and fans!

We had a nice chilled day today. We got up late (yes, even me!) then we popped round to Great Boobie to wish her a happy New Year. Mum and Dad have printed calendars featuring yours truly for the whole family, and Great Boobie was proudly displaying hers.

In the afternoon we went over to Enfield, which seems to be the location of our nearest Chinese supermarket. Boobie had a great time discovering all sorts of fruit and veg you don't normally get in Tesco's!
